About Us
Who we are:
NaNook and Nakoda’s Big Paw Rescue dba Morning Star Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal sanctuary organization established in 2018. Operating in central Texas, we were the only 501(c)3 animal rescue organization in our county. As Morning Star Sanctuary, our new priority is providing sanctuary to large/giant breed dogs, and to provide training to qualify them as physical and psychological service dogs for disabled people and veterans who need them.
Our Mission:
To help save, rehabilitate, and provide sanctuary for the abandoned, abused and neglected large/giant breed dogs as well as evaluate, test, and assist with training service dogs for veterans and disabled persons.
What We Do:
NNBPR pulls large/giant breed dogs from kill shelters whenever possible. We are able to work with them in a safe and caring space, and adopt them out to loving homes. We evaluate dogs and assist in training them for work as service animals for disabled persons and veterans.
